Update: Stormwater Project Nears Completion
(UPDATED) City of Orlando contractors are expected to have their storm sewer cleaning and rehabilitation project wrapped up around the Fourth of July holiday.
According to the City of Orlando, the line in front of 6619 Fairway Cove Drive going west to the intersection of Fairway Cove Drive and Fairway Hill Court was identified as being in need of rehabilitation. Rather than dig up the street, driveways, and sidewalk to replace the approximately 350lf of pipe, the City contracted SAK to install a cured-in place pipe liner (CIPP liner).
Unfortunately, during installation of the liner, the crew encountered a manufacturing defect that caused the liner to cure prematurely. The result is that the crew is cutting out the material and plan to manufacture and install a replacement.
It’s important for homeowners to remember that crews are using the manholes on either ends as access points, so please drive carefully during the work hours. During work, the area will be closed, including that portion of sidewalk, and covered.
