A New Election Tradition: What To Know About Political Yard Signs in Fairway Cove

For the first time, Fairway Cove homeowners may display political and election yard signs in our community.

This new freedom follows a 2026 change to Fairway Cove’s governing documents. The change, supported by the Board of Directors, gives homeowners a new way to express support for candidates and ballot measures while maintaining reasonable community standards.

With the August primary now complete and the November general election approaching, this is a good time to review the new rules.


When Can Signs Be Displays?

Political signs may be displayed beginning 30 days before an election and must be removed within three days after the election.

The next election is the general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Signs for that election may be displayed beginning:

Sunday, October 4, 2026.They must be removed no later than Friday, November 6, 2026.


A Friendly Reminder Following the August Primary

Because the August primary election has ended, signs displayed for that election should now be removed.

This is simply a friendly reminder as everyone becomes familiar with the new rules. Homeowners may display signs again beginning October 4 for candidates and ballot measures appearing in the November election.

A New Opportunity for Homeowners

Election seasons often bring strong opinions, spirited discussions and different points of view. Fairway Cove’s new rule gives homeowners a respectful way to participate and show support for the candidates and issues that matter to them.

The rule also creates clear and equal standards for everyone, regardless of the candidate, party or ballot position being supported.

As we approach the November election, homeowners are encouraged to take advantage of this new freedom while following the size, number, placement and timing requirements.

Political signs for the November 3 general election may return beginning October 4. Until then, we kindly ask that signs from the completed August primary be removed.
