A great way to get involved with Fairway Cove is to attend HOA Board Meetings and to consider joining any number of advisory committees, which require minimal commitments.

ADVISORY COMMITTEES

Committees provide advice, feedback, and recommendations to the Board of Directors on a variety of topic(s) assigned. Committees do not have any power or authority, and do not take final action, but do have an important role ensuring issues are addressed.

COMMITTEE OPPORTUNITIES

Below is a list of potential committees and general summary of roles:

  • Budget committees play a critical role in the operation of a homeowner’s association. Members of this committee are responsible for recommending and monitoring the financial policies, goals, and budgets that support the mission, values, and strategic goals of the FWC HOA.

  • Provides the board on going feedback and recommendations to maintain and improve community standards as it relates to the care, upkeep, and maintenance of the community. Guided by the HOA’s governing documents and authority, recommend to the Directors, ways to ensure compliance and continuity with overall community standards.

  • Landscaping is essential to any homeowners’ association, as it helps beautify the neighborhood and keep property values up. A landscaping committee is responsible for researching landscaping companies (when necessary), securing bids (when necessary), and interviewing potential candidates (when necessary), as well as proposing the acquisition of landscaping related services or décor (when necessary). This committee also coordinates with the chosen company, oversees all landscape work, and provides the HOA board with progress updates. Assist the board in ensuring continued care and upkeep of common area property and amenities. (This may include observing community activity to ensure trash is regularly picked up by service provider, the pond fountain is functioning and/or illuminating a specific color/hue in recognition of a certain purpose/holiday, etc.). Committee members will also lead the design and installation of holiday community décor, or properly vetting potential service providers for this purpose.

  • Provide the board with ongoing feedback about community safety concerns and solutions. Develop efforts for community-wide awareness for proactive security measures/neighborhood watch program. Serve as an added liaison between local law enforcement, the board, and the community. Research security service companies (when necessary), secure bids (when necessary), and interview potential service providers (when necessary). Service providers may include, but is not limited to, regular patrol service, or products/services such as security cameras or related products that enhance the community’s security layers.

  • This committee’s overall goal is to build a sense of community. This may be achieved – with board approval – by planning, promoting, and hosting various events and social gatherings/events, which may include, but is not limited to: community block parties, community yard sales, holiday functions, etc.

Members of the Social Committee may also serve as a welcome committee, making new residents feel more at a home and to help with their transition into Fairway Cove. Members of the committee will drop by and greet new homeowners. They can also help familiarize new homeowners with the community’s rules and processes.
